Pre-algebra
We
have already finished chapter 1. In it we mostly reviewed powers,
square roots, and order of operations. We also did some work on tables
and patterns relating them to geometric figures.
Pre-algebra is currently working on
increasing their ability to apply the distributive property in many
varied problems. We will soon be increasing our skill at writing,
simplifying, and solving equations and inequalities.
In chapter three we will be working with integers,
absolute values, general problem solving and the coordinate plane. The
reason we can move so fast through this material is because most of it
is review from last year with some minor additions and extensions of
the material
We should start chapter four before
the end of the first quarter. In this chapter we will be working on
solving multi-step
equations. We will also use formulas and variables to solve
equations related to geometric figures.
