| Algebra 1 Algebra 1 is has finished chapter one which reviewed expressions, equations, inequalities and beginning info on functions. We are flying through chapter two because it is a review of integers, properties, square roots and conditionals. Chapter three we will go a little slower because we will be extending our previous knowledge of solving equations to multi-step equations. Our equations will include dealing with combining like terms, the distributive property, variables on both sides of the equal sign, absolute values and squared quantities. We also will work on various rate problems. We will also increase our ability to write and solve ratios, proportions, percents, and work with formulas. We should start chapter four, before the end of the first quarter. This chapter will be our first venture into linear equations. It will also extend our knowledge of functions. When we finish this chapter we should be able to understand slope i.e. rate of change, graph equations in point-slope form, and work with direct variation problems St. Joan of Arc School
