Information About Homework:
- I will assign homework every weeknight, except Friday.
- The
purpose of nightly homework is to review and reinforce what we are
learning in class and to develop responsibility.
- Homework should take no longer than 20 minutes per night.
- Your
child will be responsible for bringing their homework folder, with
weekly assignment page, to and from school each day.
- Each night's homework can be found in the homework folder.
- Note:
Later in the year, we plan on progressing from a printed, weekly
assignment page to an online version. More information will
follow...
- The assignment should be done with an adult, to check for accuracy.
- Homework will consist of math and/or phonics and/or spelling and/or reading assignments.
- Once
a week (usually Tuesday), a "book club bag" will come home and your child should read the
enclosed book and be prepared to discuss the book in class the next day.
- Down
time??? Practice math facts. Practice their sight
words. Check out Spellingcity.com and practice words and
handwriting. And additional child and/or parent reading is always
encouraged.
