St. Joan, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre and Penguin Project Plan a Very Special Production of "Annie."
St. Joan and the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre will be partnering in a program called The Penguin Project. The mission of the Penguin Project is to perform a modified version of a well-known Broadway musical using young artists with developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities visual impairment, hearing impairment, and other neurological disorders to fill the major roles. They are joined on stage by a dedicated group of “peer mentors” – children the same age without disabilities who have volunteered to work side-by-side with them through 4 months of rehearsals and through the final performance. Our St. Joan of Arc students will serve as the “peer mentors” for these young actors. We will be presenting the musical “Annie” on April 20th and 21st.http://s.cleveland.com/SjvBJ5X
