EVANGELIZATION  YOU  SAY

CATHOLIC EVANGELIZATION  YOU  SAY

Did you know that YOU are an evangelizer - doing Evangelization?  Yes, you are! By the mere fact that you are a Catholic Christian following the mission of Jesus.  You do it everyday wherever you are.  Your evangelization becomes ever more important when people realize you are a Catholic Christian.  How do you live your Catholic Faith and Beliefs?

The U. S. bishops' document, GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES, is a national plan to promote Catholic Evangelization in parishses.  The goals and objectives of the plan respond to the Gospel mandate to proclaim the person and message of Jesus Christ to all the world.

Evangellization brings the Good News of Jesus Christ into every human situation[Evangelization in the Modern World, 18].  The process of evangelization opens our hearts to God's Word and to living that Word in daily life.

Discipleship and conversion are curcial to evangelization.  Disciple means to learn.  This learning requires openness to form one's self in the likeness of the human person, Jesus.  Conversion means to turn with.  On-going conversion calls us to conform our minds and hearts ever more closely to the mind and heart of Jesus.  Conforming to Jesus Christ involves a simultaneous turning away from sin.

Evangelization constitutes the essential mission of the Church [On Evangelization in the  Modern World, 14].  This mission finds expression in the renewal given by Vatican Council II -- a renewed liturgy, effective preaching, shared decision making, RCIA, and on-going adult formation.  Evangelization necessarily effects change in individuals and society.

CATHOLICS  RETURNING  HOME

This program has had three different sessions.  We are looking forward to offering another session this Fall.  Keep tuned to this site, the bulletin and announcements in Church.

If you know of any one who is Catholic and has been away from the Church and would like to come back home, invite him, her or the family to join us at the sessions.

THE "DOORS" ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO OUR PEOPLE!
