Welcome to another year of our High School PSR Program at St. Joan of Arc Church!
This year’s course will examine the question “What does it mean to be Christian?” It is third in a four-year cycle examining what it means to be human, religious, Christian, and Catholic. Topics will include the life of Christ, the divinity of Christ, the Resurrection, the parables, miracles, the Gospels and mythology, discipleship, and prayer, to name a few.
There will be 18 sessions and each will begin promptly at 12:00 noon and conclude about 1:10 pm in the school library. The dates are not necessarily consecutive Sundays in a row, so please post them on your master calendar. Here are the course dates for the 2010-2011 school year:

Here are some basic rules that we will abide by:
#1 Be on time and attend all the sessions. Just as a coach demands his athletes to attend all practices, I need the students to be there consistently to learn.
#2 Come prepared to learn and work, not to socialize. I expect my students to show personal discipline.
#3 Keep a positive attitude. I will try to make it interesting and thought-provoking.
To be honest, the ultimate success of this course depends on you, the parent. If you truly value this, then they will as well. If you make their religious education a priority, then they will treat it as if it is important. The parents of Saint Joan’s have demonstrated in the past that spiritual development is as important as academic, athletic, or social activities. I am confident that this will continue this year. I promise to do my part to teach sound Catholic theology. Together, we can help communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to the youth of this parish.
I look forward to another great year of teaching. In advance, thank you for supporting this important endeavor!
